GovInfo Day

  • GOVINFO DAY 2020

    April 24, 2020 – April 25, 2020

GovInfo Day on Friday, April 24th has been cancelled.

We have been monitoring the evolving situation with COVID-19 closely. Successive orders from BC's Ministry of Health and the Provincial Health Officer prohibiting public gatherings of more than 50 people has decided the matter. Given the flux at our local institutions, we do not have the capacity to try to host the event online. This is the first time in 22 years that the conference won't be held but, as we know, these are extraordinary times.

We very much appreciate everyone's keen interest and enthusiasm in the event this year, and we hope to be in touch again for next year's GovInfo Day.

  • GovInfo Day 2019

    April 25, 2019 – April 26, 2019

Welcome to the 21st annual GovInfo Day!

Please join us for two days of excellent programming, with hands-on workshops on Thursday, April 25th, and presentations, discussions, and more, on Friday, April 26th.

This event began as an informal get together for librarians and information professionals interested in exploring best practices regarding access and preservation of government documents and legal resources. In 2008, the program evolved to become the more formal symposium it is today. For our 20th anniversary last year, we expanded to two days to offer some hands-on workshops.

Thanks to ongoing support from Simon Fraser University Library and the British Columbia Library Association, joined this year by the University of British Columbia Library, and Kwantlen Polytechnic University Library, GovInfo Day remains free of charge. Registration is required, however, and seating is limited.

    Note: Registration is now closed.

  • GovInfo Day 2018

GovInfo Day celebrates its 20th Anniversary in 2018 and we would be delighted to have you join us.

This event began as an informal get together for librarians and information professionals interested in exploring best practices regarding access and preservation of government documents and legal resources. In 2008, the program expanded to become the more formal symposium it is today.

For 2018, we are expanding our program to encompass two days of events including hands-on workshops, panel discussions and a participant driven lighting talk session. GovInfo Day is scheduled for Thursday, April 19 and Friday, April 20th and will be held at SFU Vancouver.

Thanks to ongoing support from Simon Fraser University Library and the British Columbia Library Association, joined this year by the University of British Columbia Library,  Stanford University Libraries, and Kwantlen Polytechnic University Library, GovInfo Day remains free of charge. Registration is required, however, and seating is limited.

GovInfo Day is now full and is accepting registration for the waitlist. We appreciate your interest in this event.
